Council is making decisions on placing requests for East Renfrewshire schools

Decisions on where some children will go to school are expected to be made this month by East Renfrewshire Council.

East Renfrewshire Council is endeavouring to respond to all school placing requests by the deadline of the end of this month.

New regulations placed before the Scottish Parliament in April gave councils an extra month – up until May 31 – to respond to parents/carers who had made placing requests for their children for the academic year due to start in August 2020.

A number of other regulations in relation to placing requests have also been amended due to the current coronvirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions.
