Damages awarded after boy hurt at theme park
The youngster, aged 10, suffered a serious wound to his chin when he slipped on wooden steps at the Devil’s Island crazy golf.
The golf club he was holding had a bit of its rubber grip missing and he was cut by the exposed ragged metal edge.

In an action at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, the boy’s mum claimed it had been raining and the wooden steps were slippy. She said the venue and golf club were “unsafe and unsuitable for use, especially by a young child”.
M&D Leisure insisted it was a dry day and the boy should have taken more care on the steps.
The family sued for £25,000 and M&D (Leisure) intended to defend the action, but a settlement was reached.
