Depot for paramedics under investigation by environmental watchdogs
The Scottish Ambulance Service depot in Lenziemill will be monitored over the course of 2014 as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged environmental hazard.
The depot,which replaced one in Greenfaulds had a high profile opening two years ago. At its launch, ambulance bosses stated that the new facility would offer an improved working environment for staff, with better changing areas, training and development facilities plus a bigger garage.

Hide AdHowever, staff argue that the presence of two nearby industrial plants has caused a problem with dust that has already prompted one member of staff to quit on health grounds.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency has now confirmed that it will be continuing to take samples from the site this year.
