Kirky postie’s special delivery for self-isolating couple

A special delivery by postie
Sir, – At this time of Coronavirus our world is in a state of crisis. Those still permitted to work are working with many going above and beyond the call of duty to give much needed support and care to those who are in need or isolation due to circumstances of age, health and vulnerability. We owe them a great deal and hope their worth will be recognised more fully when this crisis is over.
There are countless instances of caring for others in the community by friends, family, neighbours and even strangers and we felt we really had to tell you of our recent experience when our lady “postie” left a gift of chocolate goodies and biscuits on our doorstep with the message “to enjoy them with a cup of tea” as she knew we were self-isolating and unable to go out at this time.
