Politicians fight for Post Office
MP Gregg MCClymont brought the battle to save the busy town centre post office to Westminster while MSP Jamie Hepburn has raised his concerns about the proposals at the Scottish Parliament.
McClymont addressed a rally organised by postal workers’ union CWU in parliament to protest against plans to close 75 Crown post offices, or 20 per cent of the network across the country.

He said: “There is absolutely no support among the local community for the proposal to franchise Cumbernauld’s Crown post office. The queues at the town centre branch are already long enough so moving the branch to a shop will only result in poorer service for customers.”
