Plans to review much -criticised winter strategy are approved by council
North Lanarkshire Council will review its winter strategy to avoid residents becoming isolated due to transportation issues caused by cold weather.
At a full council meeting, a motion from independent Airdrie North councillor Alan Beveridge acknowledged the hard work of roads and environmental staff through the winter but acknowledged heavy snowfall had left people stranded -in areas like the one pictured in Seafar where many elderly people live in non-sheltered accommodation.
The motion also called for a working group to come up with improvements to the strategy and it was unanimously agreed to do so.
